History

Since Islamic times, the estate has been passed down from generation to generation, and has belonged to different families until 1891, when it was acquired by a Mallorcan businessman, who made a major investment in the reconstruction of the existing buildings, inspired by Tuscan architecture.

When he died, without descendants in 1942, he destined his fortune to humanitarian purposes, distributing it to help the elderly without income, single mothers and subsidising studies for young people without economic resources. Specifically, the estate passed to a charitable association, which was responsible for its operation. With the passage of time, it ceased to yield and fell into neglect.

There were some initiatives to use it as a summer residence for ambassadors, a school or even a hotel establishment, but none of them came to fruition and in order to avoid its progressive deterioration, it was put up for sale. In 1982, the estate was acquired by the family that currently owns it. Since that acquisition, the farm has been progressively modernised and the existing buildings have been maintained and preserved, and for the last two decades have been used for holding events.

In addition to hosting events, there is a sustainable and ecological farm of carob, almond, olive and fruit trees that has been modernised with great respect for the environment.

On the façade there is a sundial that says: ‘Qualsevol hora del dia es sa millor per fer via’ – Any time of day is the best time to hurry.
